Jesus Coming in Matthew 16:27-28

Jesus claimed, according to Matthew 16:27-28, that he would come in the glory of his Father in the lifetimes of his listeners . Did he do it? He said he would, but lots of scoffers today (including Jews, Moslems  and atheists) are quick to ask, how could Jesus be the Son of God, and how could the New Testament scriptures be inerrant, since Jesus couldn’t do what he claimed he would do?

How would you reply to their accusations? Scholars have struggled with the answer, but always trying to change Jesus’ words. No one seems to want to stand with Jesus and say, “Yeah, that’s what he said, and that’s what he did, and here’s the proof of that statement!”

Below are some studies I’ve made in the scriptures, but following the outline of Don K. Preston’s You Tube series: “Exposition of Matthew 16:27-28“. I take full responsibility for the content, because I don’t know that everything I’ve said below would accurately represent Dr. Preston’s studies. In any event, I hope the reader will enjoy what I’ve written, and would be disposed to leaving a comment, whether to agree or disagree. I’ll try to get back to whomsoever is willing to do so as quickly and with as friendly a manner as I can.

This series of studies will focus on two verses in the New Testament: Matthew 16:27 and 28 and their implications for a near coming of the Lord in the first century AD. Lord bless all who take the time to read these studies.
