The Pauline Epistles

from Google Images

I’ve learned to appreciate Paul epistles to the gentiles through my study of the book of Acts. It was during my study of Acts that I learned not only when the epistles were written, but also why they were written. It has been my supreme joy to study each one I have. To date there is more to study than what I have done, but I hope to return to this place and finish them all, but I don’t know if I shall be able. At seventy six years of age, time is a premium. I’m no longer rich enough in that commodity either to waste on triviality nor even to plan out a reasonable time frame to accommodate studying the whole Bible, including all of Paul’s epistles. It would be my joy to do so, but simple logic tells me that won’t be done.

In any event, these are my studies of Paul’s work. Some of these studies represent my earliest attempts to study a whole book (or letter). I spent most of my life in studying subjects or Sunday school lessons, etc. Acts and Galatians were my first attempts to study a whole book from beginning to end. Consequently my first study of Galatians was very brief, so I added another of the same book later. However, it is because I did study this wonderful epistle that I gained the courage to study a Gospel narrative, so I began with Luke and went on to a second and deeper study of Acts. I owe it all to my study of Galatians. I thank the Lord for moving me to do that. It was a thrill that gained momentum as I went on. I came to understand the scripture, “they shall renew their strength” (Isaiah 40:31). I may wear out during the day, but my strength is renewed in the morning, and it is my supreme joy to continue reaching out to know the Lord more and more deeply (cp. Philippians 3:10; 1John 5:20). It is my prayer that my studies will spark something in you to go on in a more deeper fellowship with the Lord in your own life. May the Lord bless all who come here.
